Research Topic: Scholar Communication in Brazilian Bioethics

Research Summary:
This research is about specialized scholar communication in Brazilian Bioethics. The objective is to analyze how the evaluation of scientific periodicals contributes for delimitation of Bioethics in Brazil. Authors, publishers and peers' activities will be analyzed during peer review practices in three national specialized periodicals. To collect data from these activities and practices, interviews and questionnaires will be used as methodological techniques. These data will help to understand which and how criteria are important during the process of evaluation and selection of scholar communication.  The expectation is these data can contribute to development and consolidation of Brazilian Bioethics, despite the fact of being a young science, multidisciplinary and a dispute of the origin fields. For these reasons, I expect to interchange experiences with other researchers from the Center for Clinical Bioethics and the National Reference Center for Bioethics Literature. These experiences can help to develop this research and Bioethics in Brazil.
