Research Topic: Clinical Ethics Training

Summary:

In preparation for a clinical position I will spend four weeks at the Center strengthening my experience in the practice of clinical ethics. My program will ideally include: 1) spending time with a practicing clinical ethicist; 2) participating in ethics consults as they arise; 3) attending rounds in various hospital units; and 4) reading books and articles, attending lectures, as recommended by the Center staff. My goal will be to acquire as much practical information as possible from experienced practioners of clinical ethics before assuming my responsibilities in December. I am grateful for this opportunity and am excited to learn how the clinical ethics program operates at such a well-established and active program as Georgetown's.
