Dr. Roberts is originally from Alexandria, Va. He took his BA from the University of Virginia in 1977 and his MD from George Washington University in 1983. He completed his MDiv at Reformed Theological Seminary in 2013, and an MA Bioethics through Trinity International University.
In 2003 he retired from the US Navy Medical Corps, after a 20 year career in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary and Critical Care, during which time he served as White House Physician under President George H.W. Bush. He practices Critical Care Medicine at Georgetown University Hospital, where he serves as the Physician Executive Director for Inpatient Operations and Associate Medical Director, , Medical Director of the Surgical Intensive Care Unit, and Chair of the Clinical Ethics Committee.
